The Division One Exhibition represents the students' hard work and learning in the 9th and 10th grades. The exhibition will consist of the following pieces:
Portfolio
The Division 1 Exhibition Portfolio provides the opportunity for the student to:
Collect a sampling of the work they have completed over 9th and 10th grade years.
Examine the work for areas of growth and reflect on these areas through discussions and writings to make connections to the SHS Learner Expectations.
Roundtable Presentation
In the 10th grade, students will present themselves as a multidimensional learner to a Roundtable consisting of the advisor, a staff member, a peer advocate and parents. The presentation will focus on their knowledge both past and present, their accomplishments, and their thoughts or plans for the future.
All students in World Literature/World Studies will complete two separate research papers that are connected to the course curriculum while allowing room for student choice in specific topics. Students will work through the pre-writing and researching stages, complete outlines and drafts, participate in peer and teacher conferences, and submit a final draft that is reflective of intensive work and revision.
The goal is for students to learn and use sophisticated research and writing skills. These two papers together will make up the “Junior Learning Project”. While the papers will be scored and counted towards a student’s grade in World Literature/World Studies, successful completion of the JLP will be designated as a Pass/Fail on transcripts.
Senior Project is a personalized learning experience that is a requirement for graduation from Souhegan High School. The culmination of Senior Project allows students to demonstrate their proficiency in SAU 39’s graduation competencies and better prepare students for their college and career experiences. With support from a faculty mentor, students identify an area of passion, create an essential question that stems from this passion, conduct and apply significant research in their identified area, and prepare a public demonstration that is shared with the community. Throughout the project, students demonstrate their skills as engaged learners through their ability to problem-solve, organize their time and resources, and reflect upon their learning.
