Junior Learning Project (JLP)

All students in World Literature/World Studies will complete two separate research papers that are connected to the course curriculum while allowing room for student choice in specific topics. Students will work through the pre-writing and researching stages, complete outlines and drafts, participate in peer and teacher conferences, and submit a final draft that is reflective of intensive work and revision.

The goal is for students to learn and use sophisticated research and writing skills. These two papers together will make up the “Junior Learning Project”. While the papers will be scored and counted towards a student’s grade in World Literature/World Studies, successful completion of the JLP will be designated as a Pass/Fail on transcripts.
